All trainees are expected to attend an induction programme in the summer term prior to starting their course in September. The Induction is for 5 days during late June/early July, 3 days are at Crispin school, followed by 2 days in the employing school. 

Each graduate will be expected to attend the core Professional Training. This is generally held on a Tuesday afternoon from 2.15 to 4.30pm, it is usually carried out in the Crispin Conference Centre. The trainees are also involved in 6 conferences per year,venues are variable. Other training may include visits to academic institutions outside the partnership. MSC schools delivering in service training (INSET) to all staff may host MSC trainees based in other partnership schools.

Six written tasks are completed during the training year, the first three to be completed prior to induction.
